Welcome to Connellsville Presbyterian Church (EPC)
We are a multi-generational church, located in Connellsville PA, in Fayette County. Connellsville Presbyterian began as a small church in 1829, had its own building by 1849, and merged with other Connellsville Presbyterian churches in 1879 and 1963. For over 180 years, CPC has ministered to the residents of Connellsville and surrounding communities. Connellsville Presbyterian has recently become a full member congregation of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church and is a member of the Presbytery of the Alleghenies, which currently consists of 65 congregations.
The Rev. Suzanne Brown Zampella, Pastor
If there is a major snow or ice storm preceding Sunday morning, Rev Suzanne will be here, and Sunday Worship will occur -- although we might be without musical accompaniment.
That said, your safety is uppermost in our minds. Each area and neighborhood in which members live might be impacted differently. If you cannot walk or drive to worship safely, Please, stay at home!! Do not endanger yourself trying to make it through unsafe conditions, we'll see you the following Sunday. The sermon will be available later that afternoon on this website for listening.
Faith Finders will follow the school closing announcement of the Connellsville Area School District. If the school district has declared a snow day or an early dismissal due to snow, there will not be a Faith Finders session that evening. We also have added a TV alert on WPXI Channel 11, and the WPXI website specfically for late breaking weather events, such as an unexpected snow or ice storm..
Christmas Eve Worship
How are you celebrating Christmas Eve? Rushing about at the stores doing last minute shopping? Finally getting the tree decorated? Wrapping the final presents?
Take a few hours to remember the real reason for the season. Join us on the morning of Sunday, Dec. 24th for Worship as we mark the 4th Sunday of Advent, then on Christmas Eve at 7:00pm for a service of Lessons, Carols and Candlelight. Hear the familiar story, sing the carols of Christmas, Worship the newborn King.
FAQs about the EPC.
What is unique about the EPC?
We are unique among American Presbyterians with our self-conscious attempt to balance essential and non-essential matters within a confessional framework. We are unified in our commitment to the essentials of the historic Christian faith taught in the Bible, but allow liberty of conscience on those matters which are not so plain in—or central to—the Bible’s teaching.
What is the EPC's view of the Bible?
We believe that the Bible is fully inspired by God the Holy Spirit to lead people to a saving knowledge of God and to help them understand their world rightly. By its very nature, the Bible is infallible. It is the supreme authority that orders our doctrine and mission.
